Ulundi Airport ready for business

The Zululand District Municipality has revitalised the Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi Airport at Ulundi. Mike Shandu, HOD of Corporate Services is pleased to advise that the airport now has the resources and the operational readiness to accommodate daily scheduled flights between Pietermaritzburg and Ulundi. In March 2011, the ZDM, launched a week of trial flights between the two cities and these proved hugely successful. Eighty passengers from government departments and from businesses participated and were very enthusiastic about the convenience and enjoyment of flying to and from Ulundi. Expression of interest proposals have been received and there are airlines ready and willing to offer this service.
