The Zululand District Municipality hereby invites tenders for:
Tender no: ZdM 1039/2011installation of ± 1054 pre-cast concrete toilet units  
at Nhlatwini, Bhoholo,Kwadlabe,Chibini 3, Isihulu et al:

The scope comprises the installation of ± 1054 pre-cast VIP units to households in a rural settlement area ±40km north west of Ulundi. The scope will include the collection of pre-cast units (supplied under separate contract by the Employer) at the household, their handling, transport to where needed and the erection thereof, including all work to excavate the pit and to construct the pit lining.


Work on this contract will be in terms of the principles laid down by the Expanded Public Works Programme, whereby the use of sustainable, labour-intensive methods utilising resources from the target community is to be optimised.


It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading of 4CE/GB.
All those requiring tender documents must fax the relevant tender number, their company details and contact number to (035) 870-0440 before 12:00 on 12 December 2011.


Tender documents will then be handed out at the compulsory clarification meeting, which will take place on 14 December 2011. Prospective tenderers are required to meet at 10:00 at the ZDM Office at B-400 Gagane Street, Ulundi. A R150.00 non-refundable deposit (cash only) is required for each tender document drawn.

Tender closing date: 12:00 on Thursday, 22 December 2011.Duly completed tender documents, sealed in an envelope marked with the tender number and the closing date, are to be deposited into the tender box at Zululand District Municipality, Lot B-400 Gagane Street, Ulundi 3838 by no later than 12:00 on the closing date, where they will be opened
in public.

 Telegraphic, telefaxed or posted tenders will not be accepted.
Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued. Requirements for the sealing, addressing, delivery, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the Tender Data.


The Bid Committee of Zululand District Municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
