                                           TENDER NOTICE


                   The Zululand District Municipality hereby invites tenders for:


CONTRACT NO: ZDM 1091/2012HLAHLINDLELA RWSS - KLIPFONTEIN RISING MAIN


The scope comprises the installation only of 4 000m of 800mm dia ductile iron piping and fittings supplied by the  employer and the supply and installation of 400m of 800mm dia ductile iron piping, fittings and associated valves,
chambers, etc.


Eligibility: A tenderer will not be eligible to submit a tender if the tenderer cannot demonstrate that he/she has successfully completed at least one project for the supply and installation of steel or ductile Iron pipes of minimum 600mm  dia  and  minimum  2km  in  length,  possesses  the  necessary  technical  qualifications  and  competencies,
financial  resources,  equipment  and  other  physical  facilities,  managerial  capability,  personnel,  experience  and reputation to perform the contract.


Work on this contract will be in terms of the principles laid down by the Expanded Public Works Programme whereby the use of sustainable, labour-intensive methods utilising resources from the target community is to be optimised.


It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading of 7CE.
All  those  requiring  tender  documents  must  fax  the  relevant  tender  number,  their  company  details  and  contact number to (035) 870-0440, before12:00 on 21 February 2012.


Tender documents will then be handed out at the compulsory clarification meeting, which will take place on 23 February  2012.  Prospective  tenderers  are  required  to  meet  at  10:00  at  the  Klipfontein Water Treatment Works, Vryheid (27°47'23.8"S and 30°47'10.5"E).


A R250.00 non-refundable deposit (cash only) is required for each tender document drawn.Enquiries can be directed to L Fourie on tel. (034) 983-2825 during office hours.Tender closing date: 12:00 on 8 March 2012
Duly completed tender documents, sealed in an envelope marked with the tender number and the closing date,are to be deposited into the tender box at Zululand District Municipality, Lot B-400, Gagane Street, Ulundi 3838
by no later than 12:00 on the closing date, where they will be opened in public.

Telegraphic, telefaxed or posted tenders will not be accepted.
Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued. Requirements for sealing, addressing, delivering, opening and assessment of tenders are stated in the tender data.


The Bid Committee of Zululand District Municipality does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
