                                            TENDER NOTICE
The Zululand District Municipality hereby invites tenders for:
contract no: NZDM 1132/2012 NKONJENI RWSS: INSTALLATION OF GRAVITY MAIN FROM RESERVOIR AI TO AI 1


The  scope  comprises  the  extension,  to  the  bulk  water  supply,  of  the  Nkonjeni  regional scheme.
It involves the supply and installation of approximately 3.3km of 90 mm diameter Class 16 uPVC pipeline. In addition, all associated fittings, isolating valves, air valves, scour valves, etc  as  well  as  scour  protection  and  stream  crossings  will  be  constructed  as  part  of  the project.


Work on this contract will be in terms of the principles laid down by the Expanded Public Works  Programme,  whereby  the  use  of  sustainable,  labour-intensive  methods  utilising resources from the target community is to be optimised.
It is estimated that tenderers should have a CIDB contractor grading of 3CEPE/4CE.


All those requiring tender documents must fax the relevant tender number, their company details and contact number to (034) 983-2765, before 12:00 on Monday, 2 July 2012.
Tender documents will then be handed out at the compulsory clarification meeting, which will take place on Wednesday, 4 July 2012. Prospective tenderers are required to meet at 10:00 at the ZDM Offices at B-400 Gagane Street, Ulundi.
A R300.00 non-refundable deposit (cash only) is required for each tender document drawn.

Tender closing date: 12:00 on Monday, 16 July 2012.
Duly completed tender documents sealed in an envelope marked with the tender number and  the  closing  date  are  to  be  deposited  into  the  tender  box  at  Zululand  District Municipality, Lot B-400 Gagane Street, Ulundi 3838 by no later than 12:00 on the closing date, where they will be opened in public. Telegraphic, telefaxed or posted tenders will not be accepted.


Tenders may only be submitted on the tender documentation that is issued. Requirements for  sealing,  addressing,  delivering,  opening  and  assessment of  tenders  are  stated  in  the tender data.


The  Bid  Committee  of  Zululand  District  Municipality  does  not  bind  itself  to  accept  the lowest or any tender.
